Polish Priest Who Organized 'Gay Orgy' Faces 8 Years In Prison.

A priest in Poland, accused of orchestrating a gay orgy, is now facing potential imprisonment for up to eight years following his arrest.

The alleged incident occurred in September 2023 at the clergyman's residence in Dąbrowa Górnicza and reportedly involved a male sex worker.

During the gathering, one attendee reportedly suffered an overdose on erectile dysfunction pills, leading to a refusal of entry to police and paramedics. Leaked telephone recordings suggest the possibility of the use of the drug GHB during the event.

Upon gaining access to the apartment, authorities discovered a naked and unconscious individual on the floor, who later recovered after hospitalization. Father Tomasz Zmarzły from the church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Angels was subsequently arrested and charged after an investigation into the incident.

Waldemar Łubniewski, a spokesperson for the prosecutor, confirmed charges related to drug offenses, including providing illegal substances to another person, violating another person's sexual freedom, and causing serious bodily injury while failing to provide assistance to someone in danger.

The sex crime, although unspecified, carries a potential maximum sentence of eight years in prison.

The alleged gay orgy has sparked outrage in the community, leading to the resignation of the diocese's bishop, Grzegorz Kaszak. The repercussions also extended to an attempted church burning and a decline in attendance at services.

The local mayor, Arkadiusz Chęciński, has also severed ties with the diocese, emphasizing the city's commitment to tolerance and respect but requiring clear corrective actions before resuming cooperation with the Diocese of Sosnowiec.
